I look after our investors and I keep the fund running properly. I am a chartered accountant and a graduate of the Company Directors Course, I spent five years in professional trusteeship working on fund governance and complex structures, and I have sat on boards for most of the last decade.
How I ended up here
I started in transaction advisory at EY, where the job was to look hard at a deal and work out whether the numbers actually held up. That is where I learned to ask the unglamorous questions early, which turns out to be the whole trick.
From there I led performance and reporting for a large regional health network, and chaired its management team. Then I spent five years at Evolution Trustees, finishing as Director of Development and Operations. Professional trusteeship is where I learned fund governance properly: the structures, the obligations, and what it genuinely takes to be trusted with other people's money.
Alongside all of that I have spent years in boardrooms, including nine years on the Haileybury Council and terms with AMES Australia and the Australian Dental Health Foundation, sitting on their property, finance and investment committees.
At Archangel I am usually the person our investors talk to. My job is that they always know exactly where things stand, and that our founders are backed by a fund that runs well behind the scenes.
